A group of sixth form girls and staff spent three
weeks in Malawi and Zambia during the summer holidays on a World Action trip.
Although the tour was intense and
exhausting at times, it was also an exhilarating and incredible
experience for all involved. Highlights
included working with a Methodist Relief and Development Fund project
supporting HIV/AIDS sufferers in
Mzimba, central Malawi, teaching in Mackenzie School in the town of
Salima on Lake Malawi and visiting our proposed partner school, Ludzi Girls’ Secondary school in
Mchinji, western Malawi. The group
rounded off the trip with a two-day safari in Zambia, seeing hippos,
elephants, giraffe, zebra, lions and even leopard on their game drives.
All in all, the trip was a truly unforgettable experience
for both girls and staff!
