1st XI Train With The Stars

On Saturday 23 January, the Queenswood First XI had the
opportunity to be coached by GB Olympian Anne Panter and England Hockey player
Hannah McCleod in preparation for the upcoming National Finals on March 1 and 2. The girls found the session extremely
useful: not only did they work on basic technique and tactical defensive and
attacking play, but they also had a chance to ask Anne and Hannah about their
personal experiences and successes on the hockey pitch. Hearing that they trained four hours a
day emphasised the determination that is needed to perform as an elite athlete,
and the girls are grateful to have worked with such talented sportswomen.
We would like to say thank you to Anne and Hannah for giving
up their time and whilst we get ready for our finals, we’d like to wish them the
best of luck in their preparation for 2012!
