Naomi Cavaday 2
17-year old OQ Naomi Cavaday claimed her first $25,000 singles title in California in mid-March.

Naomi says in her 'player diary' - "I couldn't have asked for more this week, not only with the result, but how much I improved with every match. I believe that this is a real breakthrough for me as I am comfortable playing, competing and winning at this level".

Naomi expects her WTA ranking to rise around 80 places to approximately 280 once her points from the Orange County ITF are added.  The talented left-hander won eight matches, three of them for the loss of just two games.  She says "I'm really happy that it's all coming together, I've worked really, really hard on lots of different parts of my game and now I'm starting to see the benefits".
