Queenswood's extracurricular activities programme aims to provide pupils with a variety of stimulating physical, artistic, cultural and recreational pursuits and it is seen as an important component of school life. Girls of all ages are encouraged to take responsibility, to work as part of a team, to acquire new skills and face new challenges. The varied programme helps to add breadth and depth to the girl's interests and experiences.
Clubs, team practices and societies are held during lunch hours and after school and include such diverse activities as chess, musical theatre, Amnesty International and horse riding. Girls attend an activities fair at the beginning of the year and work with their tutors to develop a varied and fulfilling programme. The selection of, and attendance at activities is monitored and the girls' contribution to clubs and societies is commented on by tutors in their twice yearly school reports.

Weekends are also busy with a full sporting fixture list, including participation in local adult hockey and tennis leagues. A programme of weekend outings is published each term and these trips are open to all girls. Popular visits include outdoor ice-skating, the Wimbledon Tennis Museum and the Clothes Show at the NEC, Birmingham. |
A cost is associated with some of these activities. Parents' permission must be given for these as the charge will be applied to the school fees bill.
