Sports Scholar Jasmine has a spring in her step!

Thursday 27 November 2014

Sports Scholar Jasmine Steyne (Year 9) performed well at the British Gymnastics Competition in November. She came 5th out of the twelve girls competing and just missed getting a pin to take her up to the very last level of Gold+3. She scored 28.8 over the two disciplines but needed 29.0. However, she vaulted ‘out of her skin’ and her final half-on half-off vault scored a massive 12.8 and won her the Top Vault trophy.

After
missing qualification to the British Gymnastics National Trampolining
Finals for this year by a whisker, she bounced back when
she competed on 16 November at the British Gymnastics London region
competition.

Jasmine competed in two disciplines, the Synchronised and Double Mini Tramp. After confident polished performances Jasmine came home with three 1st place cups – a fantastic achievement.   Jasmine
and her partner, Natalya Helvadjian, came first out of the 15 pairs
competing in the U15s, and they also won first place for the highest
score recorded on
the day throughout all divisions.

Jasmine also agreed on the day to compete in
the Double Mini Tramp competition.
She was delighted with her performance and rather unexpectedly won!

She will be competing in a 2-piece Gymnastics at Gold +2 level for Camden Gymnastics club on the weekend of 22-23 November. We wish her the best of luck.
