Film Club Review – The Game

Monday 24 November 2014

Queenswood’s Sixth Form headed to the Pizza Hut for thisyear’s first Film Club screening, The Game, and generous helpings of crisps,
pop and soda on Thursday 18 October. Admittedly, the food and drink may have
been a greater incentive than the film at this point but Mr Daughton soon
proved to us that the movie was more than worth our time and attention.

The theme, Twist, and David Fincher’s film, The Game,
combined to make the Sixth Form spend two hours of their Thursday night
guessing and formulating theories about the characters and plot line. In fact,
the film’s twists were endless, so much so that every time we came up with a
new theory, we had to come up with another one. Of course, the film thoroughly
defeated us, but it only added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

All in all, The Game was the perfect introduction not only
to the theme of Twist, but also to a year of fantastic and thought-provoking
films.
